Getting married without the circus

You are only meant to do it once in a lifetime so naturally you will want it to be a memorable affair. We are talking about getting married of course and all that it entails. Weddings have become a massive industry and there is so much circus that surrounds the actual day that sometimes the focus on the couple is lost.  So how do you make sure that the focus isn’t lost and that you get the best value for your budget on the big day? Here’s a few ideas to help you prioritize things.

Spend where it matters

Some wedding-related things are definitely more important than others, because they are going to be with you for a long time. Aside from your partner and the memories that you make on the day, the rings you share with each other will probably be worn for the rest of your lives. So why not go all out and make them special. Depending on where you are based you could simply go online and do a search for something like, custom wedding ring Brisbane to find the right people. Make sure the bands that you exchange are as unique as your love and that they are items that showcase your personalities for years to come.

Live the moment

It can be very easy to become focussed on the wrong things. The table settings or the photographer or what music the DJ is playing. The truth is you shouldn’t be worrying about any of those things. It’s your wedding day and you should lose yourself in the moment and enjoy every second of the day. The people you have invited are your friends and family and they are there for you. No matter what happens they will be giving their all to ensure that the day is all you want it to be, it’s the one day in your life when you don’t have to be there to look after your friend’s needs.

Spend on the party

So often there is a big focus on spending on things that don’t matter. If budget is tight then cut back on the things that have become fashionable but which, from a traditional wedding perspective are completely unnecessary. It’s a bit like a hierarchy of needs. In other words you want a videographer to record the good times, but if there isn’t much of a party in the first place, what is he recording. Things like videographers or a DJ can be replaced by friends with mobile phones and a pre-recorded playlist, having the best time ever with your friends cannot be replicated in any way. And trust us, if the party is good enough you will remember it for years.

Stay close

Spend as much time on your wedding day with your spouse. Yes, you are going to be spending the rest of your life together but this is your wedding day, it’s about the two of you as a couple and you should make every effort to spend as much of the day in tandem, enjoying the day with your friends but as a couple, not as two individuals.
