Savings fit for a Queen
From the time I was a little girl, it had been my dream to look like a princess on my wedding day. By the time I fell in love and got engaged, I was an elementary school teacher with a room full of giggly girls at a private school in my home town. And even though I’d spent most of my life dreaming about wearing a princess ball gown to my wedding, I chose another style that was more flattering and age appropriate. My students relished every detail of my wedding journey. They were so invested, I’d devise things for them to do to make them feel included. They helped pick out the colors for the accents in my flowers, chose my hairstyle based on styles submitted by my stylist and decided on bubbles over rice. Some of them wanted to be in the wedding so badly, I came up with the idea of having a Princess Parade. Our ceremony was going to be small, no more than 50 people, and short on program. The girls decided to form a chorus and sing songs from my favorite Disney movie, wearing their favorite dresses from the Disney Store. This was a perfect idea, because those who know me knew how much I loved being a Disney princess when I was their age.
First I went to Groupon like a friend suggested and found deals for the Disney store. The nearest brick-and-mortar store was in a mall nearly 100 miles away, so shopping online was a great option. They even had a section dedicated to Disney Princesses with lots of gear for them to order, and for me to choose for their gifts. The Groupon saved 33% off select merchandise and there were other codes that saved money on the items I used to decorate the Princess table.
When the big day arrived, the Parade of Princesses was a big hit at the reception. The girls performed their song perfectly, and looked darling in their little dresses. It was such an original idea we even made the town paper. I loved having my students share my special day with me. And I’m so glad I could use a Groupon to make the shopping a little easier for all of us. The photos are so darling they’ve gone viral. They were the perfect little princesses, and I felt like a queen.
