If there is one event which necessitates a long, exhaustive and all-inclusive checklist, then it is a wedding. So you do need to pay a lot of attention to creating the ultimate wedding planning checklist and here is a guide to doing so.It would be useful for you to start planning as early as you can so that you avoid the stress of last minute decisions and changes.

Draw up a timeline

It would be useful for you to work according to a timeline. Ideally, you should start planning your wedding party when you still have anywhere between 12 to 18 months for The Day. So if you were to start counting down from this timeframe, you would’ve covered everything that is important by the time your wedding day rolls around.

The first stage

When you still have a year or more to go for your wedding, you should pay attention to setting the date and choosing the venue. You should also draw upa budget and make a guest list and to choose your wedding party as well – bridesmaids, groomsmen, best man, maid of honor and so on. Populate each category with as much information as you want because you can start organizing and streamlining your lists as time goes by. The date, venue, guest list and budget should be the first things that you decide on.

The second stage

When you have around 10 or 11 months to go for your wedding, the important things that you must do are:

  • Informing everybody about the date and venue – ‘save the date’.
  • The wedding registry.
  • Selecting your vendors for all your services and
  • Shopping for wedding dresses, the dresses for bridesmaids and groomsmen and so on.

The third stage

When you have around seven or eight months to go, you should finalize your wedding dress and the wedding suit. You should also have finalized all your vendors and ordered your wedding rings as well. It is also a good idea to book hotel accommodations for all the guests who need it and of course for your own selves as well.

With a month or two to go for your wedding, it is important that you have finalized all your paperwork such as confirming your wedding license and doing a last check on all the wedding attire.
